How are estimated medication levels calculated?
Understanding how the app estimates medication concentration and the half-life values used.
This app uses mathematical models to estimate medication concentration based on average data from peer-reviewed studies on how the body processes the active ingredients in GLP-1 medications.
Medication Half-Lives
The active ingredient in your medication determines how long it stays in your body. We use the following half-life values based on FDA prescribing information:
-
Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Retatrutide®
- Active Ingredient: Semaglutide/Other
- Half-Life: ~7 Days (168 hours)
-
Mounjaro®, Zepbound®
- Active Ingredient: Tirzepatide
- Half-Life: ~5 Days (120 hours)
While this provides a general idea of typical drug behavior over time, it is not a measurement, and is not specific to individual health profiles. For any medication-related decisions, please consult with a healthcare professional.
What does the graph show?
When you take a shot, a large amount of medication enters your system at once, causing the line on the chart to spike up. Over the following days, your body slowly processes the medication, causing the line to curve downward until your next dose.
